Work in Progress Projects

The Other Side Of The Mirror (Click Image To Open)

This is a new Short Horror Film that I am currently working on which is based around a creeping mirror received by the protagonist and she doesn't know who sent it to her at first. As the unsuspecting protagonist puts the mirror up in her home, a series of eerie and unexplainable events begin to unfold with the events becoming more and more eerie and scary.

Im currently working on the script and gathering all the props and working on the budget for the short film and will hopefully be finished with the short film at the end of February / start of March time.

A bit about me

Growing up with Dyslexia and ADHD wasn't an easy start for me as understanding people's emotions was a challenge, and my shyness made it hard to connect with new people. Despite this, I had a strong desire to share my ideas and stories but struggled to find the confidence to express myself. I did however have a natural aptitude for technology and a creative spark. As an output for this, I enjoyed crafting short films with my siblings, and it was through this passion for film making, editing and storytelling that I gained my confidence and found new ways to communicate my ideas.

I am passionate about all aspects of film, from production and directing to editing and visual effects. My current studies in Media and Film Production (Level 3 BTEC) and Photography (A Level) at Godalming have allowed me to collaborate with others to explore and develop my  ideas. This has taught me the importance of teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to work well with others. When challenges arise during a project, I'm quick to find solutions or alternative approaches, honing my problem-solving skills. Working with my peers and helping other groups with their projects has been a valuable experience, pushing me to reflect on my work and learn from others.

To expand my own knowledge, I've independently pursued various extracurricular activities:

- A two-day, InvestIN filmmaking course, where I learned a range of skills and processes Involved in film and digital media production. The course allowed me to create a short film trailer using studio quality raw content.

- Following my InvestIN course I bought 2 further EditStock packages to continue experimenting in editing, colour grading and audio compilation work.

- I enrolled in an online Filmmaker Course filled with interactive videos that covered various techniques and styles across different areas of video production. This helped me improve my editing skills as a filmmaker.

- I've also taught myself various industry standard editing and special effects software platforms, specifically Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, HitFilm Pro and After Effects.

- I arranged a one-on-one interview with Literary Agent Hugo Young, who helped me understand the scriptwriting sector of filmmaking.

- One-day work experience with David Fairhead, Documentary Director, and Video Editor, working on Lancaster (Above & Beyond) which deepened my understanding of the documentary  production and editing processes.

- I met Producer Richard Burrell, known for his work on shows like "Alex Rider" who further inspired me to pursue my passion with a career in film & Television. More recently I was able to shadow Richard for 2 full days on the 'Alex Rider' TV series (Amazon Prime) in their colour grading studios and sound mixing studios (Boom) across London. During this time, I spoke with the lead colour grading and the lead sound engineer working on this project, as well as Directors Brian O'Malley and Andreas Prochaska. This amazing experience gave me a behind-the-scenes look at a high-profile production, expanding my knowledge of the industry.

Outside of college, I continue to engage my passion for storytelling by creating my own short films, whether it be a visual effect filled Star Wars sequence with friends in Frensham woods, a jump scare trailer for a horror film, or a polished drone assisted sequence from a recent personal holiday, I am constantly exploring and refining my skills in this area. I now look forward to my next stage of learning at University, where I hope to broaden my horizons and to meet people from different backgrounds and perspectives, with different stories to mine, enriching my creative journey and furthering my own growth.
